Some grammarians consider “engâri” as two other adverbs “guyi” and “pendâri”. They believe that these adverbs are originated in second-person singular verbs which have acquired adverbial function. In this article, we will discuss the process of grammaticalization of the two adverbs “engâr” and “engâri”  using evidence from ancient texts written in Persian (either verse or prose post-Islamic texts) and Middle Persian, focusing on semantic changes the verb “hangār- / hangārd” has gone through: In Middle Persian, “hangār- / hangārd” is a lexical verb meaning “to consider”. After going through certain semantic changes, the verb obtains the meanings “to count” and “to assume”. Later on, the second-person singular imperative form of the verb shifts to the beginning of the clause which leads the noun phrase object to be replaced by a subordinate clause. Such changes speed up the progress of grammaticalization and make it easier for “engâr” to be reanalyzed as an adverb. After being decategorized, “engâr” is used as a modal adverb to indicate hypothetical actions and irrealis modality. On the other hand, there is a grammatical rule in Middle Persian according to which, the morpheme “ē” can be added to present stem of the verbs to construct the optative mood mainly functioning as a device to imply irrealis modality. This applies to “engâri” which is reanalyzed as an adverb indicating simile, allegory, doubt and uncertainty since in New Persian, modality is more expressed by linguistic devices such as modal verbs and adverbs than the verb moods. Phonological changes lead speakers to reanalyze “engâri” and consider it to be originated from second-person singular verb due to resemblance in orthography and pronunciation.}, keywords = {“engâr”,“engâri”,grammaticalization,Middle Persian,Early New Persian}, title_fa = {روند دستوری‌شدگی انگار / انگاری}, abstract_fa = {در زبان فارسی امروز، «انگار» و «انگاری» دو قید وجهی‌اند که بر شک و تردید و تشبیه و تمثیل دلالت دارند. منابع دستوری در خصوص ساخت و کارکرد این دو قید غالباً سکوت کرده‌اند، اما به نظر می‌رسد که ساخت «انگاری» را مشابه «گوئی» و «پنداری» و از منشأ فعل دوم‌ شخص مفرد در نظر گرفته‌اند. در این پژوهش، صورت و کارکرد قیدهای «انگار» و «انگاری» در دوره‌های مختلف زبان فارسی بررسی‌شده و با استفاده از شواهد موجود در آثار فارسی دوران میانه و نیز متون فارسی قدیم (نثر و نظم فارسی پس از اسلام)، روند دستوری‌شدگی و تبدیل این دو صورت زبانی به قید، با توجه به تحولات معنایی، مورد بررسی قرار گرفته است. بر این اساس، فعل hangār-/ hangārd در فارسی میانه از درجة قوی ریشۀ kar در زبانهای ایرانی دورة باستان، به معنی «فکر کردن»، با پیشوند ham- ساخته‌شده و با معنی اصلی «در نظر داشتن»، به کار رفته است. با تحولات معنایی، این فعل معنی «برشمردن» و سپس، «فرض کردن» حاصل کرده است و صورت امر آن، «انگار»، با قرار گرفتن در جایگاه نخستین جمله و پذیرفتن بند پیرو در نقش مفعول، مقوله‌زدایی شده و ضمن بازتحلیل در ذهن اهل زبان، به قید «انگار» بدل شده است. از سوی دیگر، در فارسی میانه، با افزودن تکواژ ē (یای مجهول) به مادة مضارع، وجه تمنایی فعل ساخته می‌شده که کارکرد اصلی آن، بیان فرض بوده است. «انگاری» بازماندۀ همین ساخت است که به فارسی نورسیده و به‌تدریج، با از میان رفتن شیوة بازنمایی وجه در ساختمان فعل، به قیدی وجهی برای دلالت بر تشبیه و تمثیل و گاه شک و تردید بدل شده است. شباهت آوایی صورت دستوری‌شدۀ «انگاری» به فعل دوم‌ شخص مفرد از مصدر «انگاشتن»، موجب بازتحلیل‌شده و به‌اشتباه، این قید را از منشأ فعل دوم شخص مفرد در نظر گرفته‌اند.}, keywords_fa = {انگار,انگاری,دستوری شدگی,فارسی میانه,فارسی قدیم}, url = {https://jolr.ut.ac.ir/article_78374.html}, eprint = {https://jolr.ut.ac.ir/article_78374_4611b4936fb53758527fdc8475e6a234.pdf} }
